The aim of the seminar was to discuss the indicators related to the well-being and progress: life expectancy, mortality rate, degree of satisfaction of personal needs. The seminar was attended by 76 representatives of various institutions, among which were participants from the Economic and Social Councils and Similar Institutions of Belgium, Benin, Guinea, Germany, Spain, Italy, Mauritania, Mali, Romania, Senegal, Tunisia, Hungary, France and Chad.
Main topics of the seminar were measuring progress, measuring social change, the role of statistics in the study of well-being and economic development and well-being indicators in the context of the United Nations Millennium Goals.
