В организираната от Комисията по европейските въпроси и контрол на европейските фондове в Народното събрание дискусия за „Бъдещето на кохезионната политика на Европейския съюз през новия програмен период 20121 – 2027 г. и участието на България в преговорния процес“ участваха председателят на ИСС проф. д-р Лалко Дулевски, Пламен Димитров – президент на КНСБ и член на ИСС, Ивелин Желязков – АИКБ и член на ИСС, както и Богомил Николов – председател на Българската национална асоциация „Активни потребители“ и член на ИСС. В дискусията участваха депутати, представители на България в Европейския парламент, вицепремиерът Томислав Дончев, постоянният представител на България към ЕС Димитър Цанчев, и други представители на институции и сдружения.

On the suggestion of the Ministry of Finance, the Economic and Social Council (ESC) held a consultation on a draft Analysis of the social and economic development of the country after its accession to the EU. This problem-oriented analysis should serve to identify the gaps in the development policies of Bulgaria so far and find solutions in the future national strategy document National Development Programme "Bulgaria 2030", says the special letter of the Ministry of Finance to the ESC. The National Development Programme "Bulgaria 2030" will determine the country's course in the next 10-year programming period with the relevant priorities, objectives and policies.

A pan-European programme should be devised to achieve the global sustainable development goals for 2020-2030 set by the UN. While each country, after taking into account its specificities, should adopt a national programme. This was suggested by the President of the Bulgarian Economic and Social Council - Prof. Dulevski - at the Annual meeting of the Presidents and Secretaries-General of the economic councils in the EU.

The ESC's mission is to promote civil society organisations access to and involvement in the process of decision-making on strategic economic and social issues.

The main goal of ESC's operation is to enable different representatives of organised civil society to feel free to state their views whereas unanimity on matters of common interest is encouraged. The Council expresses and protects civil society interests by communicating agreed statements and proposals submitted by its members to the executive and legislative authorities.
